Kristin Walla is an LPGA professional golf instructor known for her "Walla Way" teaching philosophy, which emphasizes that "Golf doesn't have to be hard".
Born in Aspen, Colorado, Walla was a standout golfer at Aspen High School and played Division 1 college golf for the University of Texas Longhorns. She turned professional in 2010 and competed on the LPGA Symetra Tour (now the Epson Tour) for several seasons. Her competitive highlights include qualifying for the 2017 KPMG PGA Women’s Championship and winning multiple MET PGA Women's titles.
Walla has held instruction roles at several prestigious clubs, including:
The Peninsula Golf and Country Club (Director of Instruction)
The Olympic Club (Player Development Coach)
Palm Valley Country Club (Director of Instruction)
Orinda Country Club (Head Teaching Professional)
Jim McLean Golf School (Assistant Instructor)
Her teaching focuses on empowering students to understand their own unique swing tendencies rather than following a rigid "pro" model. She provides instruction through her YouTube channel and as a featured contributor for Women's Golf, covering topics from bunker shots to course management.
Junior Golf: Walla has always had a passion for young players and developing the skills for a lifetime of success in the sport. Golf is unique in its ability to bring together multi-generational family outings and she believes that golf can teach so many life skills such as: angles, levers and physics, how to become more in tune with nature and the subtleties of side slope, not to mention coping with failure, finding resiliency, and staying mentally tough. If you can thrive on a golf course, you can thrive under any stress life may bring you.
Children's Book: She co-authored 1-2 Follow Through, a children’s golf book featuring the character Polly Pivot, aimed at making the game approachable for young players. She is excited to report that the sequel to 1-2 FT is on the way in 2027!
Currently, she is also coaching pickleball camps at The Newporter Club with her wife, Jill Braverman, the former #1 Player on the APP Tour. If you’re interested in Pickleball Camps, check out JillyBCamps.com
